ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team got back into the win column with a 58-45 win at York College (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon.
 
Emily DuPont led the Knights with 20 points and six steals. Jess Aponik added 13 points and five steals. The Knights finished the game with 21 steals, tying for the most since January 11, 2018 against Cairn.
 
The Knights came out and scored the first six points of the game. The first quarter then featured five lead changes and two tied scores. The Spartans hit a three-pointer just before the buzzer for a 17-15 edge at the first break.
 
York (Pa.) built an eight-point advantage, 23-15, early in the second quarter. Neumann scored the next eight points to pull the score even at 23. The teams traded baskets in the final minute and went into halftime knotted at 25.
 
Neumann held an advantage throughout the third quarter, the largest lead at six, 35-29, midway through and took a 42-37 lead into the final quarter.
 
The Knights opened the fourth quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 50-39 lead. Neumann kept the pressure on to the end of the game, coming away with the 58-45 win.
 
Neumann (2-7) will take a break for the holiday before heading to Montclair State for a tournament. The Knights will face Frankling & Marshall on Dec. 29 beginning at 6:00 PM.
