SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team dropped a 13-12 decision against Marywood University in the ultimate game of the regular season on Wednesday evening.

Brendan Boschi led the Knights with six goals and an assist with Matt Morris scoring twice. Both Luke Sykes and Connor Paradis had a goal and an assist each. Jake Methlie won 10 of 17 faceoffs with six ground balls and Owen Avelar made 16 saves in goal.

Marywood opened the scoring 3:18 into the game but Neumann responded a minute later on a goal by Boschi. He struck again at 9:30 and 7:53 to complete the natural hat trick, giving the Knights a 3-1 lead. The Pacers ended that run with 3:09 left in the first as the offense stalled for the rest of the period. Marywood tied the game up 1:17 into the second but again the Knights re-established offense. Boschi scored twice and Morris once as Neumann had a 6-3 lead at the halftime break.

It took a little over five minutes, but the Pacers started the scoring in the third with Morris responding 49 seconds later. Marywood put up two straight goals before Carter Vanderhoofven scored after a Paradis pass. With 3:55 left in the quarter, the Pacers scored three times over the next 84 seconds to take a 9-8 lead. Boschi tied the game with 41 seconds left to set up the final frame.

Marywood pushed back ahead with two goals to start the fourth. Braden Travaglini scored at the 10:33 mark but the Pacers clamped down, scoring two goals at 5:18 and 2:22. Paradis and Sykes scored late with Sykes' goal coming with three seconds remaining, but the Knights ran out of time.

Neumann (4-13, 1-4 Atlantic East) finishes the regular season in fifth place in the Atlantic East Conference, narrowly missing the cut for the postseason tournament.
