ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team fell 4-2 in the Atlantic East Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon to Marymount University.
The Saints picked up the point in doubles action. The duo of
Logan Gorbitz and
Trevor Lodge did get a 6-1 win at third doubles.
Joe Troilo took a 6-1, 6-0 win at fifth singles. At sixth singles,
James Leuzzi won 6-3, 6-2. Marymount won first singles for a 2-2 match.
At third singles, Lodge battled in the first set but fell in the tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4). The Saints then won the match with a 6-3 set two win.
Second and fourth singles all went into the third set. In the fourth flight,
Daniel Bonowski won the first set 6-2. The Saints then on 6-4 to force a deciding set, which Marymount battled to a 7-5 win in a deciding match.
Vince Landis won 6-1 in the first set in second singles. Marymount then won in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-3). The match did not finish.
Neumann finishes its season 9-6.
