SMYRNA, Del. – The Neumann University Cross Country took a trip to Delaware to compete in the Delaware State Invite at the Delaware Outreach and Research Center's 5K course on Friday afternoon.
The women competed first as
Ingrid Swarez-Ramirez led all Neumann runners with a time of 25:29.27, improving her 5K by 24 seconds.
Ciana Rosado wasn't too far behind with a time of 25:37, also improving her best time.
Val Castillo finished in 26:26.3 while
Katie Baier had a time of 28:30.2.
Bryan Castro led all Knights runners with a 19:06.1 finish.
Ethan John, in just his second 5K as a collegian, ran a time of 23:54, an improvement of 26 seconds.
Jahmeen Ross,
Jamar Davis, and
Siede Washington rounded out the afternoon with times of 24:24.8, 25:51.1, and 25:59.4, respectively. Ross and Washington both bested their season-opening 5K time while Davis competed for the first time at that distance.
Neumann will be back in action next Friday morning, staying in the First State for the University of Delaware Invite. The races are scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM from White Clay Creek State Park in Newark.
