Men’s Lacrosse Back in Action Against Penn College

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's lacrosse was back on the field after a two-week break and faced Penn College on Wednesday evening, falling 25-6.
 
Nate McLaughlin had two goals and an assist in the game. He also won 14 face-offs. Kaden Adams netted a pair of goals. Cooper Dee and Darius Thompson rounded out the scoring for the Knights. Owen Avelar started in net for Neumann and made nine saves. Tommy Bryson, Jr. made four saves in the fourth quarter.
 
The Wildcats opened the game with the first three goals. McLaughlin scored his first goal of the game just after Penn was called for a penalty. The Wildcats kept the Knights off the board for the remainder of the quarter and held a 12-1 lead after one.
 
Dee scored his goal off an assist from McLaughlin for Neumann's goal in the second quarter. Penn took a 15-2 lead into halftime.
 
Thompson opened the scoring in the third quarter as the Knights netted three in the frame. Adams scored his first goal of the game off an assist from Bryan Avanzato and McLaughlin took a face-off win straight to the net to score with 16 seconds left on the clock. Penn held a 21-5 lead heading into the fourth.
 
Adams scored his second goal of the game five minutes into the fourth quarter as the rain started to fall. The Wildcats scored the final three goals of the game before the game was ended early due to lightning with 5:31 left in regulation.
 
Neumann (0-8) heads to Lebanon Valley on Saturday for non-conference action beginning at 1:00 PM.
