HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and four Neumann University athletes were recognized.
 
Sydney Wright was named the Softball Pitcher of the Week while Women's Lacrosse's Alena Catka, Men's Track & Field's Bryan Castro, and Women's Track & Field's Kyleigh Joniec.
 
Wright went 2-1 in the circle over 14.2 innings. The junior picked two complete games and struck out 12. In an 8-4 win over Gwynedd Mercy, she allowed four runs, two earned, and struck out three over 7.0 innings. She followed with a complete game shutout at Centenary and struck out seven while allowing just three runs.
 
Catka scored nine goals, added four assists and 21 draw controls as Neumann went 2-0 in conference action on the road. In a 17-1 win at Centenary, the junior tallied four goals, four assists and 14 draw controls. She followed with five goals and seven draw controls in a 15-12 win at Marymount. This is her fifth weekly award this season and third weekly Honor Roll selection.
 
Castro placed fourth within DIII opponents in two events at the Delaware Invites. He ran the 1500m in a time of 4:32.25 and the 800m in 2:06.53.
 
Joniec threw javelin for a distance of 27.95 meters to finish 3rd among DIII competitors at the Delaware Invite. This is the second weekly Honor Roll selection of her career.
