CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team picked up their second shutout win of the season on Saturday afternoon as they defeated non-conference foe, Wilson College, 4-0.
Delaney Babish led the Knights with a goal and an assist on six shots, three on goal.
Ebony Arvelo added goal on four shots, one on goal, while
Julianna Hatt had goal on three shots, all on goal.
Shannon Duffy got the call in goal, making one save for the clean sheet win.
Neumann got the scoring started in the 14
th minute when she stole the ball from a defender, moved in on a breakaway, beating the Wilson goalie for her second goal of the season. 4:03 later, Babish grabbed the ball along the Phoenix goal line, walked it towards the goal and slipped in her first collegiate goal, doubling the Knights' lead. Less than two minutes later, Babish left a pass to Arvelo, and from 25 yards away, blasted in her first of the season to make it 3-0.
The game settled down from there although Neumann continued to dominate play. Overall, they outshot Wilson, 26-1, 13-1 on goal. They also had the game's only six corner kicks. The Knights added one more marker in the 87
th minute.
Audrey Duffield led
Hailey Ganaro on a break and she one-timed in the first goal of her collegiate career.
Neumann (2-3) will try to even up their record on Wednesday when they host Rutgers-Camden for a 4:00 PM start.
