ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team, after having their Tuesday game in Lancaster suspended, officially opened the season on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Knights, they suffered a 6-0 loss at the hands of St. John Fisher University.
The Cardinals opened the scoring with goals 58 seconds apart in the 12
th and 13
th minutes. The Knights held St. John Fisher at bay for the rest of the half but, with 39 seconds remaining until the break, the Cardinals broke through with a third goal. They added three more in the second half, in the 51
st, 60
th, and 72
nd minutes, break the game open.
Julianna Hatt and
Summer Brown led with two shots, with one on goal, each.
Amber Schauman and
Alana Dobson each placed a shot on goal as well. In goal,
Kiki Soto made two saves while
Shannon Duffy stopped three.
Neumann (0-1) will be back on the field on Tuesday night for their home-opener against Goucher College. Kick-off will be at 7:00 PM.
