Paul Gilligan

Paul Gilligan joins Neumann University with over 35 years of hockey coaching experience. The Cheltenham native has spent the last 14 years as the head coach of the Penn State Brandywine Hockey Club and was responsible for overseeing all of the club’s operations, including budget management; coordinating transportation; scheduling and organizing all practices, games, and tournaments; and, representing the team at league meetings.

Under Gilligan’s direction, Penn State Brandywine was two-time winner of the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC). On seven occasions, the team ranked in the top 10 of the Atlantic Region of the Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), and ranked three times in the top 25 Nationally in the ACHA Division III.   

 

His previous stops include the Director of Hockey Operations at Council Rock High School and head coach of the Philadelphia Junior B Flyers, the Glaciers Youth Hockey Club, and PSU Ogontz Hockey Club. During his tenure at Council Rock, Gilligan’s squad won the Pennsylvania State Championship twice and the Flyers Cup three times. Gilligan is a six-time winner of the Bucks County Courier Times Coach of the Year. 

 

Gilligan and his wife, Barbara, currently reside in Coatesville, PA.
