Tim Hollenback begins his fifth season as the Head Men’s Soccer coach in 2019.
The 2018 season was one to remember for Neumann, as Hollenback guided the Knights to the first ever Atlantic East Conference championship. The Knights finished the season with a record of 11-5-2, including an unblemished 5-0-1 record in conference play. Neumann received a first round bye as the top seed in the conference tournament before knocking off Immaculata 3-0 in the semifinals and Cabrini 3-1 in the championship game. Neumann also hosted the ECAC tournament for the first time in program history, falling in a heart-breaker late to William Paterson by a score of 2-1. Gavin Ford, Andrew Kelly and Marlon Trejo all earned first-team all-conference honors, while Daniel Rival and Brady Simon received second team all-conference honors. Ford was also named the Atlantic East Conference Rookie of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches third-team all-region performer.
Hollenback led the Knights to a record of 8-9-1 in 2017, earning a CSAC postseason berth for the 11th consecutive season. The team used a 90th minute goal in the CSAC First Round to advance past Marywood University, before falling to eventual conference champion Cabrini University in the semifinals by a score of 1-0. Despite the semifinal loss, Neumann qualified for its third-ever trip to the ECAC tournament, where it fell 3-1 to Arcadia University. The Knights also landed six players on CSAC All-Conference teams. Jake McDevitt and Billy Swontek were named first-team all-conference, Christian Cortese earned second-team all-conference honors and Perry Corsetti, Jack Norwood and Marlon Trejo all received honorable mention.
During the 2016 season, Hollenback and the Knights went 8-12 and qualified for the postseason for the 10th straight season, making it to the CSAC semifinals. Two team members, Jake McDevitt and Abu Donzo, received CSAC Second Team.
In his first season, Hollenback and the Knights went 6-10-2 overall, advancing to the CSAC semifinals. Four Knights were named to the CSAC All-Conference team, Abu Donzo, Andrew Kelly, Jake McDevitt and Christian Cortese.
Prior to being named head coach, Hollenback had been an assistant at Neumann for seven seasons. In his time at Neumann, the former assistant has helped guide the program to a record of 80-51-14. Along the way, he has assisted in leading the team to three Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships as well as three NCAA tournament appearances (2010, 2011, 2014). He also aided the program to two ECAC appearances in 2009 and 2012.
In 2011, he played an integral role in leading the Knights all the way to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament. That year the team knocked off #25 ranked Salisbury University and #1 ranked Messiah College on its way to a #16 national ranking in the final National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll.
A local product from Aston, Hollenback was a standout player at Sun Valley High School. As a senior in 2004 he tallied a school-record 30 goals on his way to All-Delco, All-Southeastern Pa, and All-State honors. He continued his career at the collegiate level at Millersville University, where he would go on to captain the team in 2007. In addition to soccer, Hollenback also went on to receive his master’s degree in Sport Management from Millersville in 2011.
