Sam Miles

Sam Miles enters his sixth year at the helm of the Neumann University men’s tennis team for the 2024 season.

In 2022, after a 7-3 overall record, and a 4-1 conference mark, Miles was named ther Atlantic East Conference's Coach of the Year.

In his first season in 2019, Miles led the team into the Atlantic East Conference with a runner-up finish in the conference tournament. The Knights went 8-4 on the season, including a 3-1 mark in conference play. Neumann defeated Gwynedd Mercy in the semifinals by a score of 5-0 before falling to champion Cabrini in the conference final. Dan Rival was named the Atlantic East Conference Co-Player of the Year, while John Beck was named the conference’s Rookie of the Year. Jordan Collins also earned first team honors in both singles and doubles play, while Evan King also earned all-conference honors in doubles play.

Miles joined Neumann after 20 years as the head coach of Saint Augustine Prep. During his tenure, Miles developed the Hermit's program into one of the best in the state, compiling a record of 350-80 in his time at the school. Under his tutelage over a period from 1996 to 2015, the team won 10 Cape Atlantic National Division Championships, 10 South Jersey Parochial Championships, and appeared in the New Jersey State Parochial Finals 10 times. Miles led the Hermits to their first ever New Jersey State Parochial Championship in 2007, where they defeated the Delbarton School.
