Len Schuler begins his fourth season as the Neumann University head Softball coach for the 2020 season.
It was a banner year in 2019 as Schuler led the Knights to the first-ever Atlantic East Conference championship. The team finished with an overall record of 30-13, including a conference record of 9-1 to earn the top seed in the playoffs. The Knights ran right through the conference playoffs, winning all three games they played in the opening round pod, then completing a sweep in the championship series over Wesley to take home the title. For its excellent season, Neumann earned a trip to the ECAC tournament, where it took down Alvernia in the opening round before falling to Pfeiffer in the tournament’s semifinals. Jenn Sieminski was named Atlantic East Conference Pitcher of the Year, while Kate Korte', Jackie Schneider, Grace Sperrazza and Kierstin Fallers also earned first-team all-conference honors. Bri Lagroteria and Jackie Selby also earned second team all-conference honors. Korte and Sperrazza earned all-region accolades, while Schneider earned first-team Academic All-America honors.
Schuler led Neumann to an overall record of 24-17 in the 2018 season including a 17-5 record in CSAC play. The Knights advanced to the CSAC title game, falling by a score of 6-4 to Immaculata University. Despite falling in the championship, Neumann earned a bid the ECAC tournament, where the team dropped a 1-0 result at Westminster College to end their season. The team finished the 2018 season as the NCAA statistical leader in doubles per game (2.63 per game) and nine players earned All-CSAC honors. Kierstin Fallers and Jenn Sieminski were named to the first team, Julia Cox, Kate Korte, Jackie Schneider, Taylor Sirolli and Bri Lagroteria were named to the second team, while Rachel Albertson and Kristina Del Gaiso earned honorable mention. Fallers, Sieminski and Schneider all received NFCA All-Region honors, while Fallers and Sieminski were named All-ECAC performers.

During his first full season in 2017, the Knights went 29-16 overall. The team won their third consecutive CSAC championship and earned a third straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Five Knights were named to the CSAC All-Conference team, Hayley Broomell, Julia Cox, Jackie Schneider, Becky Guinto, and Taylor Sirolli. Jen Sieminski was named the MVP of the CSAC Tournament. Jackie Schneider received the NFCA All-American Offensive honor. Haley Broomell was named the Philadelphia Inquirer All-Area Female Performer of the Year. Schneider, Broomell and Becky Guinto were all named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® team.

As an assistant softball coach at Neumann since 2007, Coach Schuler and the Knights have made the postseason each year, winning six conference championships to earn six NCAA Tournament bids. Neumann was also the conference runner-up three times and received four ECAC Tournament bids. Coach Schuler also helped coach four conference Players of the Year, two Pitchers of the Year and two Rookies of the Year over the 10 seasons.

Coach Schuler has been a part of Neumann Athletics since 1982 when he was initially hired to lead the women's basketball program. He has worn many hats during his time at Neumann, most recently in the dual role of Associate Athletic Director an assistant softball coach.

In addition to coaching softball, Coach Schuler is currently the Associate Athletic Director for Facility Operations for the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development. He is the father of three grown children, grandfather to three granddaughters and one grandson and resides in Aston, Pa. with his wife, Donna.Â
