Nicole Puscian comes to Neumann University with over 10 years of teaching and coaching experience. She brings fourteen years of experience as a rugby player and or coach to our program.
Most recently Puscian has served as the head club-varsity women’s rugby coach at Bryn Mawr College for six years. At Bryn Mawr, Puscian worked to rebuild a program focusing on safety, fitness and knowledge while bringing in values associated with varsity athletics. During her tenure at Bryn Mawr, the team completed community service and participated in numerous team building events. On the field, the team was successful even though their number of matches was limited. During the last two years, the team had many exciting opportunities to compete both against and with players from top tier Division I programs.
Prior to her tenure at Bryn Mawr, Puscian coached a local high school girls rugby team for four years. She served as the assistant coach the first year and then took over the head leadership role for the next three seasons. Some of her players went on to play for all-star teams and others played top collegiate rugby.
Prior to and while coaching high school rugby, Puscian served as an assistant coach for middle school basketball, track, volleyball, lacrosse and 9th grade basketball.
Puscian, a well-rounded athlete and collegiate runner, began playing rugby at West Chester University. She played for 3.5 years on West Chester University’s Varsity Rugby Team and competed with her teammates in the USA Rugby Division I National Championship Tournament three of those years. During college she began playing summer 7’s with the local Brandywine Women’s Rugby Team. Post-graduation she continued to play both 7’s and 15’s with the team for several years.
Puscian holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Level 2 Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate for both Pre-K - 12 Health and Physical Education and Middle School Science.
Nicole is very excited for the opportunity to coach at Neumann University. She wants to build upon all the hard work that Mr. Karabin, the assistant coaches, and the athletic department have put in over the years.
