Lauren Sciocchetti begins her seventh season at the helm of the Neumann women's soccer program for the 2019 season.
The 2019 season saw Sciocchetti lead the Knights to the playoffs for the third consecutive year as they began play in the Atlantic East Conference. Neumann went 8-8-1 overall, including a 3-2-1 record in Atlantic East Conference play. The Knights earned the third seed in the conference playoffs, falling in a heart-breaker in overtime to Immaculata by a score of 3-2 in the opening round. Kaitlin Thomas led the team all season, earning Atlantic East Rookie of the Year honors while setting the program record for goals in a season with 16. Carissa Britton also earned first-team all-conference honors, while Anna Attardi and Taylor Garman earned second-team all-conference awards.
In the 2017 season, Neumann went 7-9-1 overall and 6-4-1 in conference action. Neumann qualified for the CSAC playoffs for the second consecutive season, falling in the opening round to rival Gwynedd Mercy University by a score of 2-1. In 2016, Sciocchetti led the team to a record of 9-9-1. The Knights advanced to the conference playoffs and also earned an ECAC tournament berth for the second time in program history.
Sciocchetti came to Neumann from Swarthmore College, where she was an assistant coach from 2008-13. She also worked with the EPYSA Olympic Development Program from 2008-15.
Before Swarthmore, Sciocchetti was a graduate assistant coach at Centenary College, also part of the CSAC, for three seasons. Coach Sciocchetti was an assistant soccer coach at Widener University for one season. Sciocchetti holds a USSF Class C Coaching License.
Before beginning her coaching career, Sciocchetti was a four-year letter winner and a three-year starter at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt, she served as team captain in 2001 and 2002, was the team's leading scorer in 2002 and in that same year received the Eyetooth Award for Most Valuable Player.
Sciocchetti earned her Bachelors of Science in Economics and Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. She went on to earn her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Centenary College in 2009. Sciocchetti is an Assistant Director of Admissions at Neumann and currently resides in Havertown, Pa.
