Gina Kearns McLaughlin

Gina McLaughlin enters her 12th season as the Head Coach of the Neumann University Women’s Ice Hockey program for the 2025–26 season. A dedicated leader, McLaughlin has built a competitive and inclusive culture both on and off the ice, helping develop strong student-athletes and future leaders.

Under her leadership, the Knights have secured multiple ECAC West and UCHC playoff appearances.  Her most notable seasons saw standout performances from players such as Bek Lucas—named AHCA/CCM Second Team All-American and NCAA Division III statistical leader in goals per game—and Katelyn Brown, who earned UCHC Rookie of the Year. Over her tenure, McLaughlin has consistently developed All-Conference and Academic All-Area players, showcasing her focus on athletic excellence and academic success.

Prior to her head coaching role, McLaughlin served as Assistant Coach at Penn State University from 2011-2014, where she led the development of forwards and special teams while managing recruiting and team operations. She also spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach at Neumann earlier in her career.

In addition to coaching, McLaughlin serves as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Senior Woman Administrator at Neumann University. In this role, she oversees compliance for all 19 NCAA Division III sports and coordinates academic success for student-athletes.

A standout player herself, McLaughlin is a Beanpot Hall of Fame inductee, a member of the Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame, and a former NCAA Division I captain at Boston University. She was the first three-year captain in program history and finished her collegiate career as BU’s all-time leading scorer with 102 points (52 goals, 50 assists).

McLaughlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Boston University and a Master of Science in Business and Organizational Leadership from Neumann University. She currently resides in Delaware County with her husband, Bill, and their three children: Callie, Maddie, and Brady.
