Melissa Algeo makes her return to Neumann University Women’s Volleyball after serving as a volunteer assistant coach in 2016-2017. She started her volleyball journey in eighth grade and continued playing at Unionville High School, graduating in 2002. Algeo moved on to the collegiate ranks at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design.
She started her coaching career the following year at Patton Middle School in Kennett Square before becoming an assistant coach at Penn State Brandywine in 2008-2009. She was promoted to Head Coach in 2009 and stayed in that position until 2016. She had an overall record of 126-54 with the Nittany Lions and led them to their first ever conference championship.
Currently, she is a head coach at Sparks Volleyball Club and has been in that role since 2008. Algeo has also been the Director at Sparks since 2011. She has also been the owner of the Volleyball Performance Academy in West Chester since 2018.
She currently resides in West Chester, Pa. with her husband, Ryan, and their son, Doug.
