Tom Willms

Tom Willms was named the Coordinator of Athletic Communications at Neumann University in October 2022 and helps oversee the publicity of all 20 of the Knights’ NCAA Division III athletic programs.
 
Tom has been the play-by-play voice of the Neumann Knights since 2014, starting with the Men's and Women's Ice Hockey programs before branching out into all the other team sports. He has also served as the public address announcer for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball team.
 
In addition to his work at Neumann, he has either broadcasted or served as an announcer for several other collegiate programs including Drexel University, West Chester University, University of Pennsylvania, Chestnut Hill College, Stony Brook University, Rowan University, and the University of Virginia.
 
Tom was also a long-time fixture in the junior hockey ranks with the New Jersey Titans and Aston/Philadelphia Rebels of the North American Hockey League, along with the Philadelphia Little Flyers of the Eastern Hockey League. He has even been selected to broadcast national events for the American Collegiate Hockey Association, the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association, the NHL Sled Hockey Classic, and the USA Hockey Youth National Championships.
 
He has also been selected to announce regional and national events in other sports including the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League, Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, and USA Field Hockey. He was a broadcast voice of the Baltimore Bombers of the North American Lacrosse League and Trenton Freedom of the Professional Indoor Football League, and was a public address announcer for the New York Aviators of the Federal Hockey League, and the New York Sharks of the Independent Women’s Football League.
 
Willms served six seasons as a play-by-play broadcaster and media relations professional in minor league baseball, starting as an intern with the Sugar Land (Texas) Skeeters of the Atlantic League in 2013. He spent the next two summers as the radio voice of the Camden (N.J.) Riversharks, also of the Atlantic League. Then, in 2016, Tom was named the Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations with the Traverse City (Mich.) Beach Bums of the Frontier League, culminating in him being selected as that circuit’s Broadcaster of the Year in 2018.
 
Originally from Brentwood, N.Y., Tom resides in Audubon, N.J., with his wife, Rochelle, and two children, Madison, and Zachary.
