David Deal was promoted to the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director on September 1, 2024. In this role, he serves as the sport administrator for six NCAA teams - Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Men's Tennis, and Women's Tennis. Deal is also responsible for the department's business operations, managing and maintaining the daily operations for all athletics and recreation facilities, as well as coordinating athletic events and practices on the department's master schedule. 

Deal first joined the Athletic Department in August 2013 and has served as the Coordinator of Intramurals, Club Sports, and Wellness, Assistant Athletic Director / Director of Campus Recreation, and Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations. He also served as the Interim Director of Athletics for the three-month period of June-August 2024.  

A 2002 graduate of Neumann with a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Sports Management, Deal was a four-year member of the Baseball Team and was recognized as the 2002 Male Student Athlete of the Year and Co-MVP for his senior season. He earned a Master’s of Sciences Degree in Organizational and Strategic Leadership in 2016.

Prior to his return to Neumann, Deal served as the Senior Director, Business Development for the Washington Wizards (NBA) and Washington Mystics (WNBA), where he was responsible for establishing and continually operating a new Camps & Clinics department. The new programs, consisting of summer camps, holiday and spring break camps, and one-day clinics for both basketball and dance attracted nearly 3,000 youth players from the DC area.

Deal also spent nearly seven years with the Philadelphia KiXX of professional indoor soccer. As Vice President of Internal Operations, Deal was responsible for the administration of the team’s finances, securing sponsorship, assisting in player acquisition and contract negotiation, and management of all public/media relations initiatives.

Deal, his wife, Jennifer (’02) and two daughters, Emma & Harper, currently reside in Kennett Square, Pa.
