John Fleming

John Fleming enters his eighth season at the helm of Neumann baseball with an overall record of 169-117-3. The Knights have qualified for the CSAC postseason in all seven seasons under Coach Fleming while receiving three ECAC South Tournament and two NCAA Tournament bids.

The Knights went 20-15-1 overall in 2015. Neumann fell in the CSAC Championship game to finish as the runner-up. In the 2014 season, Neumann finished 17-21 overall.

In the 2013 season, the Knights received an NCAA Tournament berth after they were the CSAC Runners-Up. Neumann finished with a 30-15 record. The 30 wins was the second straight 30+ win season for Neumann.

In the 2012 season, Coach Fleming named the d3baseball.com Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. Fleming also achieved his 100th win in the CSAC playoffs. In the same year, the team was nationally ranked in the top 25 among NCAA Division III programs on three separate occasions.

Neumann’s Baseball program has produced professional players within the last few years, most notably when the Los Angeles Angels called former Knight Gary Mitchell’s name in the 21st round of the 2010 MLB Draft. In 2011 the Québec Capitals came calling when they signed third team All-Region player Mathieu Valliéres to a professional contract.

Fleming came to Neumann after one year as the pitching coach at Widener University. Prior to Widener, Fleming served three seasons as the head baseball coach at Monsignor Bonner.  Fleming guided the Friars to the playoffs all three years, including setting a school record for most wins over a two year period. Prior to going to Bonner Fleming spent 11 seasons coaching at Cardinal O’Hara HS, starting out as the Asst. JV Coach and being named as the varsity pitching coach in 1998.  Coach Fleming currently resides with his wife and children in Glen Mills, Pa.
