SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann College field hockey team traveled to Scranton, Pa. to take on Marywood University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Tuesday afternoon. The Knights defeated the Pacers, 3-0.

Both teams came into play 4-1 in CSAC play, but with the Knights win, Neumann is in the second position, behind Cabrini.

Melissa Malick did not waste anytime getting Neumann on the board. It took just 1:36 into the game for Malick to beat Marywood goalkeeper Jennifer Miller. Lauren Hood gave the Knights a two goal lead 10 minutes later. Rachael DiCiccio added an insurance goal at the 65:40 mark to seal the victory for the Knights.

Jordan Haviland made seven saves in net for the shutout.

The Knights improve to 6-10 on the season, 5-1 in CSAC action. The Pacers are now 7-6 overall, 4-2 in the conference.

Neumann will host Immaculata on Saturday in conference action. The game will also be when the field hockey team will wear their pink socks as the fall sports teams participate in “Sock it to Breast Cancer”. Come out and support the Knights and Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink.
