ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College field hockey team held off a late surge by Immaculata University Saturday afternoon and won the game by a 3-2 score in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Lauren Hood led Neumann (7-10, 6-1 CSAC) with two goals. Megan Mazur netted a goal off a penalty stroke. Rachael DiCicco added two assists. With her two assists of the afternoon, DiCicco set the Neumann single-season record for the most points in a season. She currently has 35 points (16 goals, 3 assists).

Hood put the Knights on the board nine minutes into the contest off a pass from DiCicco. Mazur put Neumann up 2-0 with a goal off a penalty stroke.  Hood scored her second goal in the second half, again off a pass from DiCicco, to give the Knights a 3-0 lead.

The Knights looked to have a commanding 3-0 lead with under five minutes left in regulation, however, the Mighty Macs did not go quietly. Immaculata (4-10, 2-5 CSAC) scored two late goals (with 2:47 and 45 seconds left) but Neumann held on for the 3-2 win.

Jordan Haviland made one save in net for Neumann. Brittany Worthington had five saves for Immaculata.

The Knights also honored the four seniors on the roster in a pre-game ceremony. This year's seniors are: Mimi Bergman, Rachael DiCicco, Abbey Reed and Kerri Sinclair. Also in this game, all of the players wore pink socks as the fall teams continue to promote “Sock it to Breast Cancer”.

Neumann will host The College of Notre Dame (Md.) on Wednesday, October 22 at 4 p.m. at Bruder field in the final week of regular season play in the CSAC.
