ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College field hockey team defeated Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe College of Notre Dame 3-0 Wednesday afternoon.
The Knights got on the board with just five seconds left in the first half as Kerri Sinclair scored off a pass from Lauren Hood.
Neumann spent most of the second half in the Gators end of the field. The hard work paid off as Megan Scott scored off a pass from Megan Mazur to put the Knights up 2-0.
With time winding down in regulation, Rachael DiCicco scored off a pass from Hood for the 3-0 win. DiCicco's goal was her 17th of the season, a Neumann single-season record (Lauren Toppi – 2002).
Nicole Deludos recorded the shut out for the Knights. Jessica Maier made three saves in net for the Gators.
Neumann improves to 8-10 overall, 7-1 in the CSAC. The College of Notre Dame is now 1-12 overall and 0-8 in conference play. The Knights will wrap up CSAC action on Saturday as they travel to Cedar Crest for a 1 p.m. start.
During the game, the players wore pink socks as the fall teams continue to bring awareness to “Sock it to Breast Cancer”.
