ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College volleyball team prevailed over Philadelphia Biblical University in the battle of the undefeated in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) 3-0 Wednesday evening.
 
The teams each game into play tonight 7-0 in conference action, only one would be able to leave still perfect. The first set started close, with the teams going point-for-point with the other. The Knights pulled away and won 25-18. The second set started the same way and Neumann pulled the win out again, 25-17. 
 
In the third set, PBU and Neumann again went point-for-point. The Crimson Eagles began to pull away, but the Knights prevailed and won set number three 25-21 and the match 3-0.
 
Ashley Mathis led Neumann with 11 kills and had a hitting average of .476. Kristen Verone dished out 26 assists. Rachael Sokolovich notched four aces as the Knights had 12 as a team. Julia Tarloski netted four solo blocks and three block assists.
 
Neumann improves to 14-11 overall this season and a perfect 8-0 in the CSAC. Philadelphia Biblical is now 19-8 overall and 7-1 in the conference.
 
The Knights will participate in the Seahawk Invitational this Friday and Saturday at St. Mary's (MD) College. Neumann will play in two matches on Friday evening and two matches on Saturday afternoon.
