Volleyball Finishes Regular Season Action

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann College volleyball team dropped two matches at the DeSales Tri-Match Saturday. The Knights lost to DeSales, 3-0, and fell to Richard Stockton in five, 3-2.

 

In the match against DeSales, Neumann lost the first set by a close score of 27-25. The second and third set scores were 25-19 and 25-16.

 

Julia Tarloski led Neumann with 11 kills. Ashley Mathis had 10 kills. Kristen Verone dished out 31 assists. Meghan Wilson notched 12 digs.

 

All sets against Stockton were close. Neumann pulled out the win in the first set, 26-24. Stockton netted the match at one in the second set, 25-23. The Knights took a 2-1 lead with a 25-20 win in the third set. Stockton forced a fifth set with a 27-25 win in the fourth set. In the fifth set, Stockton held on to win by a 15-13 score.

 

Rachael Sokolovich led the Knights with 19 digs and 11 kills. Mathis notched 22 kills. Emilee Gruse had 12 kills and three solo blocks. Verone dished out 56 assists. Melissa Haines added 18 digs while Rachele DiMichele had 15.

 

The Knights are now 16-17 overall. They will begin conference playoffs as the number one seed on Thursday night. The match will begin at 7 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.
