Volleyball Knocked out of NCAAs by Eastern

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Neumann College volleyball team fell to Eastern University 3-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday afternoon at Juniata College.

 

The Knights dropped the first set 25-15. After going down 7-0 in the second set, Neumann battled back to get within two points. However, Eastern pulled out the 25-23 win. In the third set, the Eagles turned on the heat and won by a 25-8 to clinch the match.

 

Jarrae Robinson, Julia Tarloski and Ashley Mathis all had six kills for the Knights. Kristen Verone dished out 23 assists.  Rachael Sokolovich led the team with nine digs. Meghan Wilson notched eight.

 

Neumann finishes its season 18-18 after making the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Knights also won their second straight conference title. The match marked the last match for seniors Kristen Verone, Julia Tarloski, Meghan Wilson, Rachele DiMichele and Rachael Sokolovich.
