Neumann Nets Three Goals in Third Period to Win 4-3

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Neumann College women's ice hockey team scored three goals in the third period to overcome a 2-1 deficit and win 4-3 at Oswego State Sunday afternoon in ECAC West action.

 

Tabatha Schury tallied a goal and an assists in earning the second star of the game for Neumann (2-2-0 overall and in ECAC West).  She teamed with Carly Fitzsimmons to assist on the tying goal from Khristine Acosta at 4:43 of the period before scoring the go-ahead goal unassisted at 7:39 on a breakaway.

Holly Williams, who scored the final goal of the period for Neumann at 11:35, and Carly Bondra each tallied power-play goals and added assists for the Knights, who finished 2-for-5 on the power play. Williams garnered first-star of the game accolades.

Goalie Mel Brunet stopped 27 shots to earn the win. Neumann will open its home season next Friday as Utica comes to town. Friday's game is set to start at 7 p.m. while the puck is set to drop at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
