Men's Ice Hockey Beats Becker, 6-1

RUTLAND
, Vt. – The Neumann College men's ice hockey team defeated Becker College, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the Rutland Herald Invitational.

 

Kyle Casey and Donovan Hall each scored two goals for the Knights. Casey also added an assist. Erik Stoyanovich and Charlie Paterson also netted a goal.

 

Matt Tendler made 14 saves in net for Neumann en route to the win.

 

Casey scored the first goal of the game in the second period off assists from Nicolas Lapierre and Mike Hedden. Hall made the score 2-0 on an unassisted shorthanded goal at the 9:05 mark. Becker would cut the Knights lead to 2-1 with a goal with eight second left in the second.

 

Paterson scored the first of four goals in the third period off assists from Casey and Jesse Cole. Stoyanovich scored his goal off a pass from Dave Gooch at the 10:12 mark. Casey netted his second goal 21 seconds later from Cole and Hedden. Hall sealed the win with a goal from Ryan Heickert and Kayleigh Schrock with two and a half minutes left in the game.

 

Neumann improves to 6-4-1 overall and will face the winner of the Castleton/Brockport game tomorrow at 3 p.m.
