Volleyball Gets Past Immaculata, 3-1

Verone notches 1,000th career dig.

ASTON, - The Neumann College volleyball team wrapped up a doubleheader Tuesday night with a 3-1 win over Immaculata in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match. The Knights are a perfect 4-0 in conference play.

 

Neumann (9-8, 4-0 CSAC) took the first set, 25-14. Immaculata took set two by a 25-22 score. The Knights put set three away, 25-8, and sealed the victory with a 25-16 win in set four.

 

Julia Tarloski and Emilee Gruce each notched 17 kills. Ashley Mathis added 10. Meghan Wilson led the team in digs with 19.

 

Kristen Verone had 42 assists and 18 digs. With her 18 digs, Verone reached the 1,000th dig of her career. She is the only Neumann volleyball player to achieve 1,000 digs and 1,000 assists in a career.

 

Neumann will look to stay undefeated in CSAC play when it hosts Gwynedd-Mercy on Thursday night. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. in the Bruder Gymnasium.
