In a game of cross town rivals Neumann met Widener yesterday in field hockey. The Knights were looking for their first win of the season while the Pride were looking to get a win themselves. Widener took an early lead and never looked back defeating the Knights 8-0.
Widener was led by junior Jessica Gonzalez who was able to score 2 of Widener's goals and assist on another. The Knights were never able to find their offense and were out shot 20-2 for the game. Neumann's head coach
Sarah Kurpel stated, "We are clearly struggling right now. I need to re-evaluate our system and game planning and remind the team that we need to stay positive during this challenging part of our season."
Neumann falls to 0-3 on the season. The field hockey's team next game is scheduled at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD on Sunday.
