ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College men's basketball team was defeated by Gwynedd-Mercy College, 69-62, Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletics Conference match-up.

Eli Hitchens led the Knights with 18 points. Na'Sheed Linton scored 13 points. Marquise Boggs pulled in nine rebounds.

Lemeire Talley led the Girffins with 15 points. Dan DelConte netted 12 points and Matt Johnson scored 10. Dave Smith grabbed 10 boards.

Gwynedd-Mercy held control of most of the first half. The Griffins held a nine point lead, 30-21, with 3:36 remaining the first half. The Knights finished the half on a 6-1 run as Gwynedd-Mercy took a 31-27 lead into the locker room.

Ty Robinson and Linton scored the first four points of the second half to tie the game at 31-all. Neumann took its first lead of the half, 45-44, on a three-pointer by Eli Hitchens at the 9:39 mark. With the teams tied at 47, the Griffins rattled off nine straight points to take the lead back. Neumann could not get back into the game and lost 69-62.

The Knights, now 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference, will host Centenary on Monday at 8 p.m.
