ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Neumann College men's ice hockey team tied with Elmira College, 2-2, Friday night in ECAC West play.

Matt Ward scored both goals for the Knights, one on the power play and one shorthanded.

Both teams netted one goal in the second and one goal in the third period. Ward opened the scoring on the power play, 2:21 into the second period, off an assist from Jeremy Gates. Elmira tied the game six minutes later.

Ward scored his shorthanded goal to put Neumann up 2-1, 12:18 into the third period. Elmira tied the game on the power play three minutes later.

Elmira got the only two shots in overtime. Neumann killed off two penalties in the extra session.

Ross MacKinnon made 48 saves in net for the Knights. Neumann is now 10-6-2 overall, 4-2-2 in conference play. The two teams will meet again tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
