CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Neumann College men's basketball team fell to Baptist Bible College, 68-61, Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up.
The Knights were led by Marquise Boggs with 21 points. Ty Robinson netted 16 points. Sean Armstrong and Toure' Wright added eight apiece. Armstrong led the team with nine rebounds.
Baptist Bible had four players in double-figures. Tom Waszaj led the Defenders with 12 points. Khristian Collins, Justin Cook and Travis Wash each added 11. Wash also pulled down eight rebounds. Collins dished out 11 assists.
Baptist Bible held the team for most of the first half and built its lead up to as many as 11 points, 23-12, at the 8:09 mark. Neumann responded with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 25. Down by one with the first half winding down, Robinson hit a three as time ran out to put Neumann up by two, 33-31, at halftime.
The second half played out much like the first, with the defenders lead for the majority of the time and building its lead to 12. The Knights could get as close as four points, 65-61, with 30 seconds left, but three made free throws by the Defenders sealed the win.
Head Coach Mike Gallagher wore sneaker to participate in Coaches vs. Cancer.
Neumann will look to get back in the winning column when it travels to Keystone for a CSAC game on Monday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
