Volleyball WIns Two in Tri-Match

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team took two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matches Saturday afternoon during a tri-match in the newly opened Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development.

 During the match against Centenary, senior Emilee Gruse notched her 1,000th kill of her career. 

The Knights took the first match of the afternoon against Philadelphia Biblical, 3-0. Game scores were 25-20, 25-23, 25-17.

Ashley Mathis led the Knights with 13 kills. Jerrae Robinson added 10. Cecily Scavicchio dished out 38 assists. Melissa Haines had 19 digs.  

Neumann won its second match, 3-0, against Centenary. Game scores were 25-22, 25-17, 25-12. 

Mathis had 12 kills in the match. Scavicchio handed out 30 assists. Haines and Maria Donahue each had three service aces. Haines also added 16 digs. 

Neumann improves to 9-18 overall and 8-1 in the conference. The Knights will travel to Immaculata on Tuesday for a CSAC match beginning at 7 p.m.
