ASTON, Pa. – Nicki Blazenko scored a power play goal in overtime to lift the Neumann University women's ice hockey team to a 3-2 win over Oswego State in an ECAC West game Sunday afternoon.
Jessica Schroeder notched a goal and an assist. Diane Peters added two goals. Shannon Donnelly made 22 saves in net for the win.
Schroeder netted her goal 3:22 into the game to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Oswego tied the game at one thee minutes later. Holly Williams then scored a power play goal at the 10:39 mark and Neumann took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
The Lakers would tie the game at two with the only goal of the second period with 1:13 left in the period. Neither team could light the lamp in the third period and the teams went into overtime.
Blazenko scored 3:47 into the overtime period on the power play to give Neumann the 3-2 win.
Neumann (4-1-1, 2-1-1 ECAC West) will travel to Utica on Nov. 24 for an ECAC Contest before Thanksgiving. The puck is slated to drop at 7 p.m.
