Women's Lacrosse Opens CSAC Play With Close Loss

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann College women's lacrosse team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play against Marywood University Tuesday evening. The Knights fell 13-12.
 

Gabby D'Ambrosio led the Knights with six goals. Colleen Finnegan netted four. Kathleen Sinclair made nine saves in net.

Taylor McKeown netted seven goals for the Pacers. Katie Sullivan made 19 saves in net for Marywood.

McKeown opened the scoring for the Pacers with an unassisted goal 4:40 into the game, but Neumann would respond with seven of the game's next eight goals, including four from Finnegan, to take a 7-2 lead with 12:57 remaining in the first half.

 

Marywood would score three goals before halftime to cut the Knights advantage to 7-5 heading into the intermission. 

 

Following the break, D'Ambrosio and McKeown would each score a pair of goals. D'Ambrosio and Rachael DiCicco would score 23 seconds apart to put the Knights up by an 11-8 score. 

 

The Pacers scored the final four goals of the game and tied the score at 12-12 with 6:16 on the clock.

McKeown would score again with 5:29 remaining, giving the Pacers their first lead since early in the first half.

 

Neumann held a 34-30 advantage in shots for the game while each team corralled 44 ground balls. The Knights travel to Haverford College on Thursday for non-conference action. The face-off is set for  4 p.m.
