Men's Lacrosse Loses to Shenandoah

DREXEL HILL, Pa. – The Neumann College men's lacroose team fell one goal short in an 11-10 loss to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.

 

Matt Toth netted three goals for the Knights. Justin Mailloux and Tom Hedrick each had two.

 

Mac Hedrick scored four goals for the Hornets. Stephen Mayor netted three.

 

With the score knotted at one in the first quarter, Shenandoah scored five consecutive goals to take a 6-1 lead. During the second quarter, the Knights rattled off four straight goals to cut the lead to 6-5. The Hornets scored the final goal of the half to take a 7-5 advantage at the break.

 

Toth scored to begin the third quarter and bring the Knights to within one. After the Hornets scored two goals, Neumann scored four to take a 10-9 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

 

Shenandoah tied the game at 10-all with 6:14 left in the game. The Hornets scored the game-winner with just over two minutes left in regulation. Neumann could not get the equalizer and the buzzer sounded.

 

Neumann will host Hood College this week in non-conference action.
