Men’s Lacrosse Closes Season against Immaculata

Box Score ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team suffered a 14-8 loss against Immaculata University in an Atlantic East Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Neumann scored the first goal of the game just 41 seconds into the first quarter when Cooper Dee struck. Over the next 7:24, Immaculata scored three times to take the lead. With 2:40 remaining, Matt Morris got the Knights within one as the first came to a close.
 
Connor Hurley scored unassisted at the 10:29 mark, tying the game, but that was short-lived as the Mighty Macs retook the lead 19 seconds later. With 6:25 on the clock, Morris scored his 15th goal of the season, equalizing the game at four. Immaculata scored the last two goals of the half for a 6-4 lead at the break.
 
They added on two more in the early stages of the third to get a four-goal edge. With 6:58 left in the quarter, Dee scored with the man-up. 1:18 later, Darius Thompson powered through two defenders and tip-toed the crease for his 10th of the season. Again, the Mighty Macs put up a response as they scored twice to close the period up 10-6.


Dee scored the hat-trick goal, 20 seconds into the fourth and added one more at the 12:38 mark for his 22nd of the season but Immaculata shut the Knights down from there. Two goals in 15 seconds along with two more late, sealed the game.
 
Dee led Neumann with four goals with Morris contributing two goals and an assist. Luke Sykes had three caused turnovers and five ground balls to help defensively. Bryan Avanzato led with six ground balls with two caused turnovers. Owen Avelar made 16 saves in goal.
 
Neumann finishes the season with a 0-14 record and is 0-4 in Atlantic East Conference play.
