ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Neumann College women's ice hockey team fell to Elmira College, 8-1, Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the ECAC West playoffs.

Nicki Blazenko scored for the Knights off an assist from Jessica Schroeder. Mel Brunet made 48 saves in net for Neumann.

Jenna McCall had four points for Elmira, two goals and two assists. Kayla Coady and Jamie Huntley each netted a goal and had two assists.

The Soaring Eagles opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period.

Elmira took a 2-0 lead 9:48 into the second period. Blazenko scored to make the score 2-1, but Elmira answered nine seconds later for a 3-1 game.

The Soaring Eagles scored five goals in the third period to put away the game.

Neumann ends the seaosn with a 16-11 record.
