Women's Lacrosse Defeats Falcons

DREXEL HILL, Pa. – The Neumann College women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2009 conference schedule with an 18-10 win over Cedar Crest College Saturday morning at Msgr. Bonner High School.

 

Alex Bohen and Gabby D'Ambrosio each had five goals for the Knights. Rachael DiCicco netted four. Kathleen Sinclair made six saves in net.

 

Kelly Oaks scored four goals for the Falcons. Devin Ursini had 23 saves in net.

 

The first half was a tight one, with the teams trading goals and neither team taking more then a two goals advantage. The score was tied at seven at the half.

 

The Knights came out firing in the second half and took over the game. Neumann scored five goals in the first part of the second half to take a 12-7 lead. Cedar Crest scored its first goal of the half with 10:18 left on the clock, but the DiCicco answered with two goals in 30 seconds to put the Knights up 14-8. Neumann did not let Cedar Crest back in the game.

 

After the game, six seniors were recognized in playing their last regular season home game: Rachael DiCicco, Emily Kazaba, Tiffany Baker, Kerri Sinclair, Dani Schnapf and Gabby D'Ambrosio.

 

Neumann finishes its conference schedule with a 5-2 record. The Knights will wrap up its regular season on Tuesday as they travel to Swarthmore College. The face-off is slated for 7 p.m.
