Men's Lacrosse Falls to Marywood

DREXEL HILL, Pa. – The Neumann College men's lacrosse team fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Marywood University, 17-10, Wednesday afternoon in a conference match-up.

 

Dominic Collichio netted three goals for the Knights. Kyle Gardner had two goals and four assists. Jake Boulay made 20 saves in net.

 

Ryne Boyle and William Roerden each scored three goals for the Pacers. Three players scored a pair of goals. Eric Luhrmann made 10 saves in net in three quarters. Jesse Habich had three saves in the fourth quarter.

 

The first half was even as the teams traded goals as the biggest lead was just two goals. Marywood took a 7-6 lead into halftime.

 

The Pacers scored the first two goals of the second half to increase their lead to three. Collichio scored to bring the Knights back within two. Marywood then scored two more goals to increase its lead. Steve Lis scored with 11 seconds in the third quarter to put the deficit at three.

 

Marywood broke open the game in the fourth quarter. The Pacers rattled off four goals to make the score 15-8. Bryan Capone when scored for the Knights. Matt Toth scored with 13 seconds left in the game, but it was not enough as the Pacers won 17-10.

 

Before the game, the Knights recognized its five seniors: Bryan Capone, Chuck Rudolph, Shawn Fagan, Vince Mundy and Paul Smeltzer.

 

Neumann will now finish the season with four straight away game. The Knights will travel to Penn-State Abington on April 15. The game is slated to start at 4 p.m.
