HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men's basketball team defeated Centenary College, 82-78, Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
The Knights had four players in double figures, led by Marquise Boggs with 18. Ty Robinson netted 17. Na'Sheed Linton scored 12 and Toure' Wright added 11. Robinson also grabbed 12 boards and Sean Armstrong pulled in 11.
Corey Kearney led Centenary with 28 points. Ryan Kearney added 17 while Ludner Innocent netted 12.
The first half remained close and featured four ties. The Cyclones held a two-point advantage, 39-37, at the half.
The second half was even tighter and had eight ties and five lead changes. The last tie occurred with 37 seconds left in regulation with the score knotted at 78. Boggs then drained a three-pointer with five seconds on the clock to put the Knights up by three. Wright then made 1-of-2 from the line to seal the 82-78 win.
Neumann improves to 7-6 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Centenary is now 5-8 and 3-3 in the CSAC. The Knights will host Philadelphia Biblical in conference action on Monday night. The women tip-off at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m.
