ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team completed the weekend sweep of Sacred Heart with a 10-4 win Saturday evening in non-conference action.
Jessica Schroeder had one goal and four assists for five points. Nicki Blazenko had two goals and two assists. Mariah Fairgrieve had a goal and two assists. Angie Conte netted two goals. Shannon Donnelly made 42 saves in net.
Stephanie Nakamura opened the scoring 10:33 into the game. Tanya Lamon put the Knights up 2-0 four minutes later. Sacred Heart would net a shorthanded goal before Blazenko would score a power play goal for a 3-1 Neumann lead at the first intermission.
Seven goals were scored in the second period, four by Neumann and three by Sacred Heart. Angie Conte netted eventual game-winner midway through the period. The Knights led 7-4 after two.
Neumann scored the only three goals of the third for the 10-4 win.
Neumann (7-6-1) will travel to Utica on Tuesday for and ECAC West game. The puck will drop at 4 p.m.
