ELMIRA, NY – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell to Elmira College, 3-0, in ECAC West action Saturday afternoon.
For the Knights, Nicole Alexopoulos and Holly Williams led the team with four shots on net. Shannon Donnelly made 37 saves in net.
In the first period, the Knights held of the Soaring Eagles to a scoreless game. The Knights had six shots on goal, but could not produce on any of the three power plays.
Elmira scored two goals in the second period, both on power plays. The first goal came at 8:23 into the period. Four minutes later, at 12:42, the Soaring Eagles scored their second goal.
The Soaring Eagles scored their third goal 19:37 minutes into the third period on an open net.
Neumann returns back on the ice tomorrow when they face Elmira College again. The puck is set to drop at 2 p.m.
