Men's Basketball Tames Nittany Lions

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team defeated Penn State-Brandywine, 85-54, Wednesday night in the final night of the Neumann Holiday Classic.

Five Neumann players hit double figures in the game. Na'Sheed Linton netted 15 points. Toure' Wright notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. John Lewis scored 12 including going 3-for-3 from downtown. Sean Armstrong and Patrick O'Connor each added 10. Mike Walukiewicz hit three from beyond arc for nine points.

Kyle Hagerty led Penn State for 27 points, including seven three-pointers. 

Neumann dominated play against Penn State Brandywine. From the opening tip-off the Knights took control and quickly took an eleven point lead at the 13:34 lead. A lay-up by Linton at the 10:45 mark started an 18-4 run, giving the Knights a 41-14 lead with five minute remaining. Hagerty drained two three-pointers with under a minute remaining in the half. Neumann shot 60% from the field, taking a 47-28 lead at the half. 

Neumann continued to out shoot the Nittany Lions in the second half. The Knights widened their lead to thirty points with a 12-2 run with fifteen minutes left in regulation, to take the lead 70-40. A Lewis lay-up gave Neumann their largest lead of the night of forty points at the 6:43 mark. PSU Brandywine could not make a come-back and Neumann took the 85-54 victory. 

All-Tournament members are Justin Kinsey from Valley Forge Christian, Tyson Hartnett from Rowan, Kyle Hagerty from Penn State and Sean Armstrong from Neumann. 

Neumann returns to conference play on Monday when it hosts Keystone. The women tip-off at 6 p.m. with the men to follow.
