Men's Ice Hockey Starts '10 with Win

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team scored four goals in the first period en route to a 5-1 win over SUNY-Potsdam Friday evening in non-conference action.

 

Cory Park led the Knights with two goals, including the game winner, and an assist. Jordan Zalba had a goal and an assist. William Lacasse added two assists.

 

Sean Crozier opened the scoring at the 7:41 into the first period. Park netted his first goal on the power play at the 11:03 mark. David Gervais and Park scored a minute and a half apart to put the Knights up by a 4-0 score. Potsdam got on the board with a power play goal with one second left in the first.

 

Zalba scored on the power play with under five minutes remaining in the third period to make the final score 5-1. Ross MacKinnon made 30 saves in net.

 

Neumann improves to 8-4-2 with its fifth straight victory. The Knights and Bears will meet again tomorrow afternoon. The puck will drop at 4 p.m.
