CHEYNEY, Pa. – The cross country teams competed at the Cheyney Invitational Friday evening. Both teams placed fourth out of five teams.
For the women, Ursinus College placed first with 24 points. Holy Family was second with 53. Host Lincoln finished third with 89 points. Neumann received 112 points and Cheyney had 132 points.
Kelly Rehder came in third overall out of 34 runners with a time of 18:59. Lindsey Lapatina was the second Knights to cross the finish line with a time of 21:20. Annamarie Conner ran a time of 22:51. Shakira Jackson finished in 25:37 while Candace Oakley rounded out the group with a time of 33:40.
On the men's side, the teams finished in the same order as the women. Ursinus received 31 points, Holy Family 54, Lincoln 94, Neumann 132 and Cheyney 145.
Colin Kane led Neumann, finishing in a time of 17:24 and 18th out of 36 runners. Michael Hammond ran the course in a time of 17:33 while Eddie Nungesser finished two second later in 17:35. Anthony Defrancesco ran a time of 18:17 and Evan Willis rounded out the Knights in 20:10.
The Knights will compete at the Hood College Open on Saturday. The race begins at 11 a.m.
