ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to Gwynedd-Mercy College, 3-2, Tuesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play.
Erica Crabtree scored a goal and notched an assist for the Knights. Christina Hicks also scored while Megan George tallied an assist. Maggie Carpenter made five saves in net. Terri Yurick had a defensive save.
Crabtree opened the scoring in the 20th minute of the game. GMC answered with two goals, one in the 26th minute the other in the 30th minute. Hick netted her goal in the 33rd minute to tie the game at two. That's how the teams went into halftime.
The Griffins scored the game winner with just six minutes left in regulation.
Neumann (5-12, 4-3 CSAC) will travel to Moravian College on Thursday for a non-conference game beginning at 4 p.m.
