Knights Slay Dragons 7-0

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team completed its weekend sweep of Cortland St. with a 7-0 win Saturday afternoon. 

Cory Park netted two goals for the Knights. Steve Gervais and Michael Rey each had a goal and an assist. Bill Foster, Jeffrey Bienvenue and Harley Garrioch all dished out two assists. 

Matt Tendler made 10 saves in net for the win. Todd Seay had four saves in his first action of the season.

Park scored Neumann's first two goals in the first period. Then in the last minute of play, Rey and Gervais scored to give the Knights a 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Marlon Gardner put the Knights up 5-0 on a shot right after a face-off that Foster won. Brent Tamane then scored on a break-away off of a pass from Garrioch. Neumann held the 6-0 lead at the second intermission.

Mat Valois scored off an assist from Foster 3:56 into the third period for the 7-0 final.

The Knights outshot the Red Dragons 56-14 in the game. Both teams were 0-1 on the power play. 

Neumann travels to Elmira College next weekend for ECAC West action. Saturday's game will begin at 7 p.m.
