ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University volleyball team will travel to Baptist Bible on Thursday for a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up.
The Knights advanced to the semifinals with a 3-0 win over the College of Notre Dame Tuesday evening in the first round.
Katelin Kuklentz leads Neumann this season. The freshman was just named the CSAC Rookie of the Year and currently has 413 kills, 347 digs and 21 service aces.
Cecily Scavicchio has handed out 1,114 assists and a team-high 38 services aces this far in 2010. In 33 matches, the sophomore has 316 digs as well. Natalie George leads the Knights with 74 total blocks, 31 block solos and 43 block assists this season. The junior is second on the team with 314 kills.
Victoria Limmina has been the Libero this season. She leads the team with 519 digs. She also has 27 service aces. Cait Cantwell has notched 30 service aces, 130 digs and kills. Lauren Sheehan has notched 161 kills and 42 blocks in 33 matches.
Baptist Bible and Neumann faced each other in the its first conference match of the season. The Defenders defeated the Knights 3-1.
No. 1 Cabrini hosts No. 4 Marywood in the other semifinal match. The winners of the two semifinals will face each other on Saturday for the CSAC Championship. The match will begin at 5 p.m. at the highest remaining seed.
