ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell to Widener University, 91-79, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Marquise Boggs led the Knights with 27 points. Mark Blount added 11 points.

BJ Smith led all players with 31 points on the afternoon. Jarrell Nelson notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Perry Wright netted 12 points and Bob Makor added 10.

Widener came out with a bang and scored 11 of the first 14 points. The Pride continued to add to their lead and built a 20 points advantage, 43-23, with 2:43 left in the first half. Neumann put some pressure on and scored 10 of the final 12 points of the half and Widener went into the locker room with a 45-35 lead.

The Knights kept pace with the Pride in the second half, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome.

Neumann (3-5) will host Rutgers-Newark next Saturday in the final game of 2010 part of the schedule. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
